Not a Game

What was that?
Just a game, you say?
Only a hobby in the end,
You mutter.
Not much importance in life,
Except to pass time.
Well, tell that to the guy,
Who showed up for the game with a broken ankle.
Tell that to the guy,
With a fever of 102 degrees,
Who scored the winning goal.
Tell that to the guy,
Wearing his goalkeeper's gloves,
Who almost puked blood,
And still continued to stop balls.
Tell that to the guys,
Who practice through storm and fire,
To improve their game.
Tell that to the guys,
Who only go through more,
With greater vigour,
After a loss.
Tell that to them.
I dare you.
